That was a lot of flame and it looks like they were already beyond V1. Knowing nothing about the type, it looks like they had some issues getting to Vr and still tried to rotate, likely due to a complete lack of any other option. Possibly avionics. Once again, know nothing of the type, but that seems like A LOT of flame for an avionics fire. The engine detaching sort of reminds me of American Airlines 191 out of O’Hare. I think it was actually the same type of plane. That’s was maintenance malpractice. Inside the cockpit, however, some things went wrong, no real fault of the pilots given the circumstances, that could quite possibly be an issue here. The engine in question is laying on the ground and fell off during the mishap and someone has mentioned that the other engine was compressor stalling meaning they may have been down to just the engine in the tail may have been the only consistent propulsion they were getting. This is all heresay through channels to other pilots I know and some who had connections at UPS. I actually am having a hard time watching it knowing that 3 pilots deaths are depicted and it is such a horrifying video. I was in the air flying from KCLE to KLAS at the time this happened.
