Discovered I had Guillian Barre Syndrome (somewhat rare, no known cause, no known cure) while going through flight school in early 1978. Since then, nobody has wanted my blood for donation or would give me a flu shot. I took every shot I was ordered to in prep for WESTPAC as well as during WESTPAC. I wonder what would have happened, if I were a lot younger, on active duty, and declined the vax...
