This was a DC-10 (now MD-11) and it remains the worst air disaster in history. So far, a lot of similarities. I don’t know if the engine is still designed to to fail up and over the wing structurally, but if that is the case, it is not hard to imagine a scenario like this. Quite possibly an engine structural failure that led to perhaps a fod issue on one or both remaining engines, perhaps with accompanying hydraulic issues. The OHAre accident was found to be maintenance malpractice.
